In August 2019, Easterly and the General Services Administration (GSA) commenced a 20-year non-cancelable lease for the beneficial use of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) at the re-developed 69,624 square foot facility located in Alameda, California (“FDA- Alameda”).

In 2016, Easterly acquired the rights to a lease award to re-develop the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) laboratory. FDA – Alameda, serves as the FDA’s San Francisco Office and Modern Class A laboratory housing two wet and dry laboratories for chemistry and microbiology, with security personnel on site 24/7/365.

The agency operates 13 high throughput field laboratories, located strategically across the country. Given its mission, the FDA plays a significant role in our nation’s counter-terrorism capability by ensuring the security of the food supply and by fostering development of medical products to respond to deliberate and naturally emerging public threats.
