The Judiciary of the U.S.

Acquired in June 2015, the 46,979-square-foot Thad Cochran U.S. Bankruptcy Courthouse in Aberdeen, Mississippi, was Easterly’s second acquisition following its February 2015 IPO. The Cochran Courthouse is a modern building in terms of court functionality and security, expressed in the stately form of a Greco-Roman classical design. Built in 2005 to the exacting standards of the U.S. Courts Design Guide, Easterly believes it to be fully compliant with the U.S. Judiciary’s needs in terms of security, space sizes and functions, and circulation patterns for the public and judicial officers. The property is currently leased to the GSA for an initial 20-year term.
