The mission of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is to protect and promote public health by ensuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, and medical devices. The FDA also oversees the safety of the nation’s food supply, cosmetics, and products that emit radiation. Easterly Government Properties owns three properties pertaining to the FDA. This includes FDA – Atlanta which houses both laboratory and office space for the Atlanta District Office as well as the Southeast Food and Feed Laboratory (SFFL) and Southeast Tobacco Laboratory (STL). Easterly also owns FDA – Lenexa laboratory, which is a relocation of the former Kansas City District Laboratory and features a number of upgraded capabilities. FDA – Alameda, which serves as the FDA’s San Francisco Office, is also owned by Easterly.
